Waterfall, Tunnel & Maze
Welcome to the Sunken Garden and Maze. Built on the site of a Victorian fernery the Sunken Garden is one of the most atmospheric and playful parts of the garden with stepping stones, lush green planting and hidden gems.
Go Behind the Waterfall
The waterfall marks the final cascade in the River Lugg's journey through the gardens. Look carefully and you'll spot a craggy opening that leads you behind the falls, upward through the rockwork and out!
Explore the 1,000 Yew Tree Maze
Wind your way down the maze's hidden paths and dead ends to reach the central Gothic Tower, but not all is as it seems...dummy doors and secret staircases keep you guessing!
Helpful guidance might be on hand from your fellow visitors at the top of the tower, but beware: they might be sending you the wrong way!
The Secret Passage
Our garden is one of the few in the UK where you can travel underground! The tunnel was designed as part of the ambitious garden restoration in the late nineties.
Feel your way along the stone walls through the darkness to discover where you emerge. Can you find it?
