Escape to the countryside with our estate walks along the River Lugg and Humber Brook.
The River Walk
This walk follows the River Lugg with routes taking 30 minutes to an hour and a half. While the naturally steep banks prevent direct water access, we have cleared dedicated viewing points along the path giving beautiful views of the river and woodland opposite. It is a peaceful, dog-friendly stretch perfect for spotting resident kingfishers, herons, and otters.
The Lake Walk
The Lake Walk follows the Humber Brook. This historic stream is lined with stone walls, a remnant of its past life as a narrow canal used by the estate. The shaded path guides you past a giant plane tree and over a small bridge, opening to beautiful castle views, gliding swans, and if you are lucky, grazing deer.
