A great family day out where play and nature meet, featuring the castle play area and our free nature sculpture trail.

The Castle Play Area

Situated next to the Maze and Sunken Garden, the castle-themed play area features a slide, scramble nets, tunnels and turrets. Look out for hidden cubbies and the ancient yew tree carved with woodland creatures and owls. Lined with magnolia trees and benches, the space offers a restful spot for parents to pause whilst little ones explore.

The Old Bear Nature Trail

Included free with entry, the Old Bear Trail follows the tale of a bear who arrived by mistake and befriended the local wildlife. This beautifully illustrated guide leads children to 5ft wooden sculptures and hidden ceramic rubbing plates. With nature facts and a QR code to log live sightings, it encourages young explorers to observe the natural world around them.
