Family Fun – The Old Bear’s Nature Trail
23rd March 2024 — 29th September 2024
The Old Bear’s Nature Trail is a great way for families to explore our gardens in Herefordshire! Perfect for a day out with the kids.
Newly updated for 2024 with additional wood carvings of Herefordshire wildlife. Use the QR on the trail worksheet to log your wildlife sighting with the Herefordshire Wildlife Trust database.
Collect your trail worksheet and pencil from the Visitor’s Centre when you arrive, before meeting the Old Bear sculpture in the Kitchen Garden, ready to start! From here, help him find the friends he’s made on the estate – all of these beautifully carved animals are native to the estate. There are also eight ceramic rubbing plates for you to discover and spaces for you to collect them all on the back of your trail map.
Book Now for general admission to the gardens and Castle Tours. Normal admission prices and opening hours. Castle tours are also available on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
This project was part-funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Read more here.
